Message I recently returned a very large purchase from CZP. I was very disappointed in how things were handled, but now I'm second guessing myself-- was it an honest mistake or was Coz playing another rip-off game? Does he deserve another chance or is it time to sever ties with CZP?

I will try to give 'just the facts, maam': Despite bad publicity I have continued to use Coz over the past several years. His service has been excellent, shipping on-time, and has some good prices. I bought a bunch of stuff during his Thanksgiving sale. On New Years, I purchased a set of JWT turbos and SZ downpipes when he offered a 7.5% discount, even though I wasn’t ready to install them for a while.

Following Greg D’s post in which he announced Concept Z would no longer be an SZ dealer, Coz asked me to post the pics so he could be exonerated from bait and switch accusations. Well, the pipes were indeed the real deal from Specialty Z, shown here and verified by Greg:

Unfortunately the stainless oil feed lines listed in the kit were not in the package, so I emailed Coz about it on January 10th. At that time I also printed a copy from the CZP website of the JWT kit I ordered (red added by me):

Coz returned the email two hours later, indicating I HAD MADE THE MISTAKE, because the oil lines were not included in the kit. When I checked the Concept Z website again after receiving his email … the stainless oil feed lines had “magically” disappeared from the website listing:

I was quite upset about the way this was handled and Fedex’d the shipment back to Concept Z, which cost me an additional $70.00. I included a note indicating I was very disappointed in his actions. He received the items yesterday and replied, “…what is going on about this SS line dilemma? I'm a little confused about me changing something on the website…”

Then a few minutes later he added, “Disregard my last e-mail, I know what happened. And you were right, the 2 kits were sharing the same descriptions, and part numbers. When I updated the part numbers, the file w/ the correct description was updated. Thus, when I went to look at it online, it didn't have the lines on there anymore. The kit should not have included the lines, and I see why the frustration. I will issue a credit back right away, I feel really bad about this, but you should have brought the error to my attention before you had returned anything, you know i would have taken care of it. Please don't feel that I was trying to swindle you or anything. Man, this year not starting right at all for me :( ”

I felt like I was being played for a fool. I refrained from sending him scathing emails accusing him of being a liar and a cheat, although I sure felt like doing so. I sent everything back because I interpreted this as another of his stunts— but could it be that I am wrong? Was the apology sincere? Maybe Coz the victim of my paranoia? After all, he did send real SZ downpipes. The real irony is that I made this purchase to save some money, and it is costing me much more in the long run.

Btw, this is not an attempt to incite another “flame post” on CZP—I am very busy and have much better ways to spend my time. I’m still waiting for my Visa credit to post, but I am confident Coz will at least make that right.
